How long can you store your Pods?
If you have Mevol X Pods in storage, you might be wondering how long it will be safe to use them. Let’s delve into the topic of how long e-liquid remains viable before it spoils.
What are the ingredients in e-liquid?
Typically, our e-liquids contain the following components:
- Vegetable Glycerine (VG): This serves as the base ingredient for all e-liquids. It is a colorless and odorless substance that contributes to the pleasant and sweet flavor of the vapor.
- Propylene Glycol (PG): Another base ingredient, PG is clear and almost odorless. While it has little taste on its own, it acts as a carrier for the specific flavorings in the e-liquid.
- Nicotine: Nicotine belongs to a family of compounds called alkaloids and occurs naturally in several varieties of plant – including tomatoes, aubergines and potatoes – but is found at its highest levels in the tobacco plant.
- Flavorings: These ingredients provide the distinctive flavors to the vapor.
How to interpret Mevol expiration dates
Our Mevol X Pods are designed specifically for our range of devices. As part of our quality measures, our pods are individually packed and sealed.
Determining the expiration date of e-liquid can be easy, as it can remain viable for up to 18 months. To check the expiration of pods, simply look for the black-printed production date on the back, which could help you determine if the pod is safe to use.
How should you store e-liquid?
Proper storage conditions are essential to prevent premature spoilage of e-liquid. By taking care of your pods, you can use them up until the expiration date.
Ensure that you store your e-liquid:
- Withproper temperature:
Natural ingredients in e-liquid have a shorter lifespan when exposed to warm air. It is best to store pods in a cool, dry place where temperatures do not exceed 25°C.
- Without direct sunlight:
Exposure to bright sunlight can cause temperature fluctuations, leading to ingredient degradation. Store your pods in a dark cupboard or drawer, avoiding windowsills or cars.
How to determine if e-liquid is expired?
Without proper storage, your pods could expire earlier than expected. Similar to any consumable product, there are signs indicating that your vape juice has expired and should not be used.
- Change in smell:
Both before and after vaporizing, e-liquid should have a pleasant aroma. If the e-liquid has gone bad, you may notice an unpleasant and unusual smell.
- Separation:
Over time, it is normal for e-liquid ingredients to separate. In most cases, a quick shake should resolve this issue. However, if the ingredients remain separated even after shaking, it suggests that the e-liquid has expired.
